MENTOR, Ohio (May 9, 2018) – Wiseco Performance Products, the worldwide leader in manufacturing high-performance, forged and billet pistons for the powersports, snowmobile, personal watercraft, outboard marine and automotive markets, has been named the Official Piston of American Flat Track.

The Wiseco brand has gone hand-in-hand with American Flat Track dating back to the series’ roots as the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Grand National Championship. It has played an important role in the history of the sport, including powering the very first of Scott Parker’s record 94 AFT Twins wins when he rode a Klotz/Wiseco-sponsored Harley-Davidson to victory at the Du Quoin Mile as a 17-year-old rookie in 1979.

Wiseco has supported winning flat track racers for decades, including Jay Springsteen, Randy Goss, Ricky Graham, Chris Carr, Joe Kopp, Brad “The Bullet” Baker and “The Jammer” Jared Mees – past and current champions who rely on Wiseco Pistons to for added power and durability inside their engine.

“Wiseco is proud to sponsor the American Flat Track series, the original extreme sport,” said Wiseco Director of Powersports Scott Highland. “We love the sport of motorcycle racing at Wiseco, so helping to promote one of the most exciting racing properties anywhere is a privilege. As the original American-made performance racing piston, American Flat Track racing is in our DNA. We’re thrilled to make this relationship official and work closely with the racers and officials of this incredible American tradition.”

Mees comes into Round 5 with a handsome 17 point lead over Henry Wiles in the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines championship after collecting back-to-back wins at Texas Motor Speedway and Calistoga. Brandon Price leads Daytona TT winner Dan Bromley by just 4 points in the AFT Singles class after taking home a win, a podium, and a top 5 in the last 3 rounds, respectively.

“Wiseco is a legendary name in American motorsports, and we are delighted to partner with such a storied brand as we grow the sport of American Flat Track,” said Micheal Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “Their supported riders list reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of Pro Flat Track champions from the last golden age to the current one, and we are grateful for their support for America’s Original Extreme Sport.”

Wiseco has long been involved in powering racers in both the AFT Twins and AFT Singles classes.
